Water content includes trace water and percentage moisture, based on two different principles. The trace water principle is near-infrared scattering, while the percentage moisture principle is near-infrared absorption.

1. Trace water (ppm level)

Utilizing the principles of near-infrared scattering and transmission, the scattered light is captured by the 8 photodetectors at the detection end, while the transmitted light is picked up by the central photodetector, forming an 11° angle between the scattered and transmitted light receptors. The ratio of scattered to transmitted light intensity is proportional to the content within the medium. The product solidifies at zero point, eliminating the need for calibration and adjustment. Accuracy of 0.3%, resolution of 0.015ppm. Fully online, no sampling required, temperature up to 240°C, pressure up to 320bar.

Currently, the measurement of trace moisture in the market mainly relies on the dew point (alumina film) principle, with several issues:

1. Can we accurately collect trace amounts of water from DN8 pipes measuring ppm (parts per million) moisture, starting from DN100, ensuring it's representative?

2. Require intermittent results, real-time?

3. Wet-sensitive probe requires regular calibration

2. Moisture Content (Percentage)

A beam of constant parallel monochromatic light is vertically incident, penetrates the medium, and is absorbed by specific substances within it. The remaining light intensity is detected; the absorbed light intensity is proportional to the molar absorption coefficient of the medium at this wavelength, to the path length of light in the medium, and also to the concentration of the substance.
