Material Selection for Crane Lifting Arm

Carbon steel pipe materials are typically used for petrochemical liquid materials that are generally non-corrosive.

• To maintain the purity of petrochemical liquids and prevent rust particles from contaminating, the loading and unloading arm pipelines should be made of stainless steel. When liquid materials are used directly in the food industry, the loading and unloading arm pipelines should also be constructed from stainless steel materials.

• Materials for loading and unloading arms commonly used with corrosive acidic and alkaline substances

• Nitric Acid: It is advisable to use stainless steel pipes or plastic-lined pipes for the loading and unloading arms. If the vertical pipe is inserted into the tanker for a long distance, aluminum pipe material can be used for the liquid in the vertical pipe.

• Glacial acetic acid, acid: Acid-resistant stainless steel pipe material (316L) may be used.

Sulfuric Acid: 98% sulfuric acid and fuming sulfuric acid are produced using high-quality carbon steel pipes.

• Sulfuric Acid (Below 80%): Steel-lined PTFE pipes, steel-lined PVC pipes, and steel-lined PP pipes should be used. If the vertical pipe needs to be inserted into a tanker, PVC pipes, PP pipes, PTFE pipes, or glass steel pipes can be used for insertion.

Salt, Acid: The material selection for the dilute sulfuric acid is basically the same.

• Caustic Soda Solution (Room Temperature): High-quality carbon steel pipes are used for the loading and unloading boom.
