The S7-200 series PLC offers 8 different CPUs in 4 distinct basic models for your use.

CPU Unit Design

Integrated 24V load power supply, directly connectable to sensors and transmitters (actuators), CPUs 221 and 222 with 180mA output, CPUs 224, 224XP, and 226 with outputs of 280mA, 400mA respectively. Load power supply available.

Different types of equipment

Each CPU 221 to 226 comes in two types, featuring different power and control voltages.

Digital Input/Output Points of the Unit

CPU 221 features 6DI/4DO, CPU 222 includes 8DI/6DO, CPU 224 has 14DI/10DO, CPU 224XP offers 14DI/10DO, and CPU 226 is equipped with 24DI/16DO.

Simulated Input/Output Points

The CPU 224XP features 2 AI/1 AO.

Communication Methods

Internally integrated PPI interface provides users with robust communication capabilities. The PPI interface is RS485 and operates in three modes:

1. PPI Mode: The PPI communication protocol is a protocol specifically developed by Siemens for the S7-200 series PLCs. It connects via a standard two-core shielded twisted pair cable. Baud rates include 9.6kbit/s, 19.2kbit/s, and 187.5kbit/s. The programming port integrated into the CPU is also the PPI communication interface.

2. MPI Mode: Connects to the MPI network via an internal interface. Baud rates are 19.2 kbit/s and 187.5 kbit/s. The S7-200 can communicate with S7-300/400, functioning as a slave in the MPI network, and they cannot communicate with each other.

3. Communication Port Mode: A unique feature. The S7-200 PLC can communicate with any device that has an openly available communication protocol. Users can define the communication protocol themselves. The baud rate is high at 38.4 kbit/s.

4. PROFIBUS-DP Network: CPUs 222, 224XP, and 226 can support the PROFIBUS DP network protocol by adding an EM277. High transmission speed is up to 12 Mbit/s.
