Working Principle

Microfluidics is a science and technology that precisely controls and manipulates fluids at the microscale. It processes extremely small volumes of fluid (usually in the micro- to picoliter range) within a network of microchannels ranging from tens to hundreds of micrometers, leveraging the unique physical properties of fluids at the microscale (such as laminar flow effects, enhanced diffusion, and significant surface and interface effects) to integrate various functions like sample preparation, reaction, separation, and detection from traditional laboratories onto a small chip, forming a micro-total analysis system or "lab-on-a-chip."
