Glass Fiber Grid

Glass Fiber Grid (abbreviated as EGA) is a shorthand for Glass Fiber Geogrid. It is made by using reinforced alkali-free glass fiber yarns, woven into the base material using advanced foreign warp knitting machines. It employs a warp-knitted directional structure to fully utilize the strength of the yarns within the fabric, enhancing its mechanical properties. This results in excellent tensile strength, tear resistance, and creep resistance. The material is then coated with modified asphalt to create a flat, networked structure. By adhering to the principle of similar and compatible, it emphasizes its composite performance with asphalt mixtures and fully protects the glass fiber base material, improving its wear resistance and shear resistance. This enables its use in road reinforcement to resist cracking and rutting, thereby solving the难题 of difficult-to-reinforce asphalt pavements.

Product Application:

1. Existing asphalt concrete pavement, reinforced asphalt surface treatment, disease prevention and control.

2. Concrete pavement reconstruction into composite pavement to suppress reflection cracks caused by plate shrinkage.

3. Road expansion project to prevent and control cracks caused by the junction of new and old sections and uneven settlements.

4. Reinforcement treatment for soft soil foundation, promoting water extraction and consolidation, effectively controlling settlement, even stress distribution, and enhancing the overall strength of the subgrade.

5. New road subgrade with semi-rigid base develops shrinkage cracks; reinforced reinforcement prevents reflection cracks in the foundation from causing pavement cracks.

Cautionary Notes:

Workers must wear gloves when handling self-adhesive glass fiber grid.

(2) When self-adhesive glass fiber geogrid is laid over road sign obstructions, the geogrid at this position must be cut with a knife to clear the obstruction.

(3) When laying self-adhesive glass fiber mats, pleats are not allowed. Therefore, there must be sufficient tension during the laying process.

(4) The overlapping section of the ends should be 75-150mm, ensuring the overlap runs in the direction of laying.

(5) The overlap on both sides is 25-50mm.

(6) After laying and compacting, only construction or emergency vehicles are permitted to travel on it, ensuring that the geogrid is not damaged due to vehicle turns or braking.

(7) For roadways with already laid geotextile grids, the paving of asphalt mixture must be completed on the same day, with the surface asphalt thickness exceeding 40 millimeters.
