Nonwoven fabric

Non-woven fabric, also known as non-woven, needle-punched cotton, and needle-punched non-woven, is produced from polyester fibers, also known as polyester (abbreviated as PET), through the needle-punching process. It can be made into various thicknesses, textures, and hardnesses.

Non-woven fabric features include moisture-proof, breathable, flexible, lightweight, flame-retardant, odorless, tasteless, inexpensive, and recyclable. It is suitable for various industries such as soundproofing, thermal insulation, heating elements, masks, apparel, and filling materials.

Advantages:

1. Lightweight: Made primarily from polypropylene resin, with a density of only 0.9, which is three-fifths that of cotton, it has a fluffy texture and a pleasant feel.

2. Softness: Made of fine fibers (2-3D) with light dot-shaped thermoplastic bonding. The finished product has a moderate softness and provides a comfortable feel.

3. Water-Repellent and Breathable: Polypropylene pellets are non-absorbent with zero moisture content, resulting in excellent water-repellent properties in the finished product. The fiber composition offers porosity, ensuring good breathability, making the fabric easy to keep dry and wash.

4. Can purify air, utilizing the advantage of small pores to keep bacteria and viruses out.

5. Non-toxic and Non-irritating: The product is manufactured using FDA-grade raw materials, free of any other chemical components, with stable performance, non-toxic, odorless, and non-irritating to the skin.

6. Antimicrobial and Chemical Resistant: Polypropylene is a chemically inert material, non-ferrous, and can isolate bacteria and insects present in liquids from侵蚀; antimicrobial, alkali corrosion-resistant, and the finished product is not affected in strength by erosion.

7. Antimicrobial. The product is water-repellent, mold-free, and can isolate the侵蚀 of bacteria and insects in liquid, preventing rot and decay.

8. Excellent physical properties. Made by directly laying polypropylene filaments to form a mesh and then heat-bonded, the product has better strength than general short fiber products, with no directional strength and similar longitudinal and transverse strengths.

9. In terms of environmental protection, the majority of non-woven fabric raw materials are polypropylene, while plastic bags are made from polyethylene. Although the names are similar, these substances differ greatly in chemical structure. Polyethylene has a highly stable chemical molecular structure, making it extremely difficult to degrade, hence plastic bags take 300 years to fully decompose. In contrast, polypropylene has an unstable chemical structure with easily broken molecular chains, allowing for effective degradation and entry into the next environmental cycle in a non-toxic form; a non-woven shopping bag can be fully decomposed within 90 days. Moreover, non-woven shopping bags are reusable over 10 times and contribute only 10% of the environmental pollution of plastic bags when disposed of.

Drawbacks:

Compared to woven fabrics, it has lower strength and durability.

2. Cannot be washed like other fabrics.

3. The fibers are arranged in a specific direction, making them prone to crack at right angles. Therefore, the improvement in production methods focuses mainly on preventing splitting.

Non-woven fabric should be cared for and stored with the following points in mind:

2. When storing for seasonal changes, items must be washed, ironed, dried, and then sealed in a plastic bag. Place them flat in the closet. Be sure to shield from light to prevent fading. Ventilate and dust regularly, and avoid direct sunlight. Place anti-mold and anti-pest strips in the closet to prevent the cashmere products from getting damp, molding, or attracting pests.

3. When worn underneath, the outer garment's lining should be smooth, and avoid placing hard items inside the pockets like pens, keychains, or phones to prevent friction and pilling. When worn on the outside, minimize contact with hard surfaces (such as sofa backs, armrests, or tables) and hooks. Do not wear for extended periods; take a break or switch to a different garment after about 5 days to allow the clothing to regain elasticity and prevent fiber fatigue.

4. If there are balling, do not pull them forcibly. Use scissors to cut off the fluff balls to avoid causing unrepairable damage due to loose threads.
