RTO stands for Regenerative Thermal Oxidization, a catalytic combustion unit known as "Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer" in English. The RTO process reuses heat through a novel non-steady-state heat transfer method. It works by cooling organic waste gases to above 760°C, causing the VOCs to hydrolyze into CO2 and H2O. The high-temperature gas stream then passes through ceramic regenerative beds, causing them to heat up and "store" heat. This stored heat is used to pressurize and pre-heat the organic waste gases that were previously introduced, thereby saving fuel consumption for the waste gas treatment. The RTO technology is limited to treating medium and low concentration (100-3500 mg/m³) waste gases, with a decomposition efficiency of 95%-99%.
