Currently, glass fiber reinforced plastic grating has been successfully applied in this challenging offshore environment. Compared to metal materials, it is three-quarters lighter, making it easier to handle components like foundation supports. Moreover, the grating's flexibility makes it comfortable for those working on it long-term, reducing tension in the workers' legs and back, enhancing comfort, and thus improving work efficiency—it has been recommended by ergonomics scientists. Compared to ordinary carbon steel, the glass fiber reinforced plastic grating is more cost-effective, though its initial investment is higher. However, due to its aging resistance, its normal service life is about fifteen years, and it requires no maintenance, making its overall economic benefits far superior to those of carbon steel.

3. Top Loading Platform

On the platforms and walkways of storage tanks, severe corrosion is often a concern. In daily operations, the overhead platforms that suffer from severe corrosion present significant safety hazards. Utilizing glass fiber reinforced plastic grating as the flooring material for overhead platforms can effectively address this issue.
