The increasing demand for agricultural plastic water-saving irrigation equipment has also created historical opportunities for the development of PE pipe materials in our country.

    Since entering 2013, the demand for plastic pipes in our country has continued to show slight growth, with overall performance surpassing that of 2012. This is due in part to increased investment in infrastructure projects, and on the other hand, to the accelerated integration of the industry. Smaller enterprises without resource advantages or innovation are being eliminated at a faster pace, while larger PE pipe manufacturers with high-quality products are continuously adopting new technologies and fostering innovation. Additionally, since the beginning of 2013, the price of raw PE has remained at a low level, making production costs for PE pipes controllable and profitability acceptable. During these extraordinary times, plastic pipe companies across the nation must demonstrate a sense of social responsibility and not just seek immediate gains. To improve overall standards, they must reject counterfeit and substandard piping materials.

    In developed and advanced countries abroad, the occupancy of PE pipes in urban underground gas pipelines has reached over 90%, and they hold a 60% market share in water supply pipelines. By raw material density, they can be classified into high-density, low-density, and medium-density pipes. There are other classification criteria as well, which are not detailed here.

    The wide application of PE pipe materials is not only evident in urban municipal and residential construction but also in the increasing demand for plastic pipes in rural areas. Different from the large-scale, corporate procurement in urban markets, rural market users are typically individual households with small purchase volumes and diverse specifications. With 80% of our country's population engaged in agriculture, this market cannot be overlooked. Therefore, it is essential to develop various types and specifications of PE plastic pipes suitable for rural use to meet the demands of the rural market, thereby expanding the application of PE pipe materials.
