Steel elbow types; curvature radii can be divided into long-radius elbows and short-radius elbows; long-radius elbows refer to those with a curvature radius equal to 1.5 times the pipe outer diameter, i.e., R=1.5D; short-radius elbows refer to those with a curvature radius equal to the pipe outer diameter, i.e., R=1.0D. (D is the elbow diameter, R is the curvature radius; D can also be expressed in multiples.) They are categorized by angle into 45-degree elbows, 90-degree elbows, and 180-degree elbows, which are the most commonly used. Additionally, based on engineering requirements, other non-standard angles such as 60 degrees are included. Steel elbows are classified by pressure ratings: approximately seventeen types, with those that are the same as American pipe standards including: Sch5s, Sch10s, Sch10, Sch20, Sch30, Sch40s, STD, Sch40, Sch60, Sch80s, XS, Sch80, Sch100, Sch120, Sch140, Sch160, XXS. Steel elbow production technology; it can generally be divided into hot pushing forming, stamping forming, and medium plate welding forming. The hot pushing elbow forming process features attractive appearance, even wall thickness, and continuous operation, making it suitable for mass production. Consequently, it has become the main forming method for carbon steel and alloy steel elbows and is also applied in the forming of certain specifications of stainless steel elbows. The stamping forming elbow was one of the earlier processes used for mass-producing seamless elbows and has been replaced by hot pushing or other forming methods in the production of commonly used elbow specifications. However, in certain specifications of elbows, it is still used due to low production volumes, thick or thin wall thickness. The half-section of the elbow profile is formed using a press, and then the two halves are welded together; this process is generally used for the production technology of large-diameter welding elbows with DN700 and above.
