    I. Causes and Solutions for Wind Turbine Vibration

    Excessive clearance between the impeller and the main shaft has caused vibration, with the primary reason being inaccuracies in the machining precision during the manufacturing process of the impeller.

    Solution: Vibration caused by excessive clearance between the impeller and the main shaft should be addressed by checking the new shaft against the drawings to ensure the correct fit between the impeller and the shaft. The impeller bore and shaft should have interference fit, with a clamping force of 0.01-0.05mm.

    Vibration caused by an unbalanced impeller can be attributed to reasons such as the impeller sticking dust, loose or unevenly corroded/worn parts, uneven material in the manufacturing process of the impeller, errors in machining precision, and deviations in assembly.

    Solution: Clean the dust, remove the fan rotor, and balance the rotor using a dynamic balancer. Static imbalance can be leveled on-site using the three-point balancing method. Zibo Guotong Fan Co., Ltd. can resolve fan vibration issues on-site.

    The main shaft experienced bending, primarily due to the fan being in a long-term inactive state. Under the weight of the main shaft blades, deformation occurred. This situation commonly arises after a fan that has been in normal operation is deactivated, leading to excessive vibration when restarted. Additionally, localized high temperatures in the main shaft can also cause bending.

    Solution: Replace the main shaft.

    4. Vibration caused by insufficient or loose rigidity of the base or pedestal, including thin base steel plates, loose shims, displacement, and loose anchor bolts.

    Solution: Reinforce the base foundation.

    5. Vibration caused by shaft alignment error of the fan coupling. The coupling connects the fan and the motor, transmitting motion and torque; misalignment is a very common fault in fans.

    Solution: Realign. It is impossible to achieve perfect concentricity and coaxiality with the shaft coupling. Allowable error is within 0.1mm.

    6. Excessive clearance between couplings and shafts; vibration caused by excessive or uneven clearance in elastic bushes.

    Solution: Replace the couplings, ensuring that the fit between the couplings and the shaft is interference fit with a tightness of 0.02mm to 0.05mm; Since the couplings on both sides are not processed from the same batch, it's difficult to guarantee the concentricity of the pin holes on both sides of the couplings. Therefore, it is recommended to replace both couplings at once as much as possible during the replacement.

    7. Causes of Fan Vibration: Bearing wear and excessive clearance; shaft collar wear, large gap between bearing inner sleeve and shaft collar.

    Solution: After replacing the bearings, ensure they are properly installed and the lock nuts must be tightened securely, along with the use of anti-backing washers.
