Regarding the restricted area, the Chinese Putting Green Association revised new competition rules in 2006, which also updated the dimensions of the putting green's restricted area. Under the old rules, the restricted line was one meter outside the competition line, parallel to it. The revised rules now require the restricted line to be 50 cm to 1 meter outside the competition line, still parallel. Additionally, the new rules state that the dimensions of the field, line width and color, and the distance between the competition and restricted lines are determined by the competition committee.
