Chemical Name
Tetraisopropyl bis(2-octylphosphonoacyloxy) titanate
English Name
Tetraisopropyl di(dioctylphosphate)titanate
CAS No.
65460-52-8
Molecular Formula
C28H6307Ti
Molecular Weight
559.0
Physical properties
This product is a colorless to light yellow, low viscosity, transparent liquid that is soluble in organic solvents and insoluble in water; it hydrolyzes when mixed with water. Being a hexacoordinated titanate, it is more stable than tetracoordinated titanates and is not prone to exchange reactions with esters. It has good adhesion to inorganic materials such as metals and glass fibers.
Application
Product can reduce the usage of titanium dioxide/talc and solvents in high solid content epoxies, increase the amount of talc fillers without altering the system's viscosity, and enhance adhesion to glass and metals. This product is used for treating inorganic fillers such as calcium carbonate, talc, barium sulfate, titanium dioxide, and metal powders to improve dispersion and anti-settling properties. It is also used in unsaturated polyester fiberglass to enhance the mechanical properties and anti-aging of the composite.
