What is IECEx certification?
1. IECEx is an acronym for the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC) certification system for equipment used in explosive environments, specializing in safety certification for explosion-proof products. Its aim is to eliminate differences in equipment and service use across various countries in flammable and explosive environments, while ensuring the safety level of explosion-proof products. This is achieved by removing the need for redundant inspections and certifications when entering different countries or regions, thus promoting international trade. The current IECEx explosion-proof standards primarily consist of the IEC 60079 and ISO 80079 series.
2. IECEx certificates (CoC) consist of Product Test Reports (ExTR) and Factory Inspection Reports (QAR). The QAR is issued directly by the Ex Certification Body (ExCB), while the ExTR is issued by an Ex Testing Laboratory (ExTL) contracted by the ExCB, which is then reviewed and approved by the ExCB.
In the IECEx system, member countries' ExCBs and ExTLs work together. Companies can hold ExTRs and QARs to apply for a CoC with an ExCB.

6. Applicant: This section displays the name and address of the certificate applicant. Typically, the applicant is the manufacturer; however, other organizations are also allowed to act as applicants, including OEMs or ODMs.
