Application Range:

SK type water ring vacuum pumps and compressors are designed for suction or pressure transfer of gases and other non-corrosive, water-insoluble, and solid particle-free gases to create vacuum or pressure in closed containers, meeting process requirements. A small amount of liquid is permissible in the gases being suctioned or compressed.

SK type water ring vacuum pumps and compressors are widely used in industries such as machinery, petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, ceramics, sugar production, dyeing, metallurgy, and electronics.

Due to the isothermal compression of gases during operation, SK-type water ring vacuum pumps are less prone to danger when conveying or suctioning flammable and explosive gases, thus making them more widely applicable.

Operating Principle:

The SK-type water ring vacuum pump, as shown in Figure (1), has its impeller 3 eccentrically mounted within the SK-type water ring vacuum pump housing 2. As the impeller 3 rotates, water is subjected to centrifugal force, forming a rotating water ring 5 on the inner wall of the SK-type water ring vacuum pump. The inner surface of the water ring, above the hub, rotates tangentially in the direction of the arrow. During the first half of the rotation, the inner surface of the water ring gradually detaches from the hub, creating a sealed space between the impeller blades and the water ring. This space expands with the rotation of the impeller, decreasing the gas pressure within it, and drawing gas into the space. In the second half of the rotation, the inner surface of the water ring moves closer to the hub, and the space between the blades gradually decreases, increasing the gas pressure within the space. When this pressure exceeds that at the exhaust port, the gas between the blades is expelled. With each full rotation of the impeller, the space between the blades is evacuated and retracted once, with numerous spaces continuously working. Thus, the SK-type water ring vacuum pump continuously draws or compresses gases.

The SK-type water ring vacuum pump, due to the heat generated during operation, can cause the working water ring to heat up, and at the same time, some water and gas are discharged together. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously supply water to the pump during operation to cool and replenish the water consumed inside the pump, meeting the pump's operational requirements.

When the gas discharged from the SK-type water ring vacuum pump is no longer utilized, a gas-liquid separator is connected to the pump's exhaust end (a water tank can be homemade as an alternative). Waste water and the contained water are drained into the gas-liquid separator, where separation occurs, with the gas exiting through the exhaust pipe and the remaining water supplied back to the pump via the return pipe for continued use. As the working time extends, the working water temperature will continuously rise. At this point, it's necessary to supply a certain amount of cold water (tap water) at the separator's water supply point to lower the working water temperature, ensuring the pump meets the required technical specifications and performance standards.
