I. Application of S(SH) Type Mid-Opening Pump:

The S(SH) type mid-open pump is suitable for transferring clean water or other liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water (neutral or slightly corrosive liquids containing trace particles). The S(SH) type mid-open pump is applicable to urban water supply, large-scale water conservancy projects, agricultural irrigation, flood drainage, pump stations, power stations, mining, industrial water supply systems, air conditioning systems, fire protection systems, shipbuilding industry, and is also suitable for general use in the oil refining industry.

Section 2: Structural Description and Features of S(SH) Type Split-case Pumps

1. The S(SH) series single-stage double-suction centrifugal pump (mid-suction pump) is a single-stage, double-suction, volute-type centrifugal pump with the casing opened axially in the middle. Compared to other pumps of the same type, the S(SH) mid-suction pump features a long service life, high efficiency, reasonable structure, low operating costs, and easy installation and maintenance. The suction and discharge ports of the S(SH) mid-suction pump are both below the pump shaft centerline, positioned vertically to the axis in the horizontal direction. The casing is mid-open, and during maintenance, there's no need to dismantle the inlet. The discharge piping and motor (or other prime mover) are viewed from the coupling towards the pump, and the pump rotates counterclockwise. It can also be rotated clockwise upon special customer order.

2. Key components of the S(SH) type split case pump include: pump body, pump cover, impeller, shaft, double-suction seal ring, shaft sleeve, bearings, etc. The materials for the S(SH) type split case pump can be copper, cast iron, gray iron, 316 stainless steel, 416 stainless steel, dual-direction steel, Hastelloy, Monel alloy, titanium alloy, and 20# alloy, etc.

3. The pump housing and cover form the impeller's working chamber. Tube screw holes for installing vacuum and pressure gauges are machined on the inlet and outlet flanges. Lower part of the inlet and outlet flanges feature tube screw holes for draining. The flanges are made according to GB standards, and can also be made according to ISO, DIN, BS, or ANSI standards.

4. The hydraulic design of the impeller utilizes the most advanced CFD technology, thereby enhancing the hydraulic efficiency of the S(SH) type open impeller pump. The impeller has been statically balanced and is fixed to the shaft with sleeve and nuts on both sides, allowing adjustment of its axial position. The axial force of the impeller is balanced by the symmetrical arrangement of its blades, with any remaining axial force absorbed by the bearings at the shaft end.

5. The shaft of the S(SH) type split case pump is supported by two sets of rolling bearings, mounted at both ends of the pump body. The unique bearing housing design allows for lubrication with grease or light oil, with a design life of over 100,000 hours. Double-row thrust bearings and sealed bearings can also be used. The pump body is equipped with a double-suction seal ring, making it easy to remove and replace. The S(SH) type split case pump is directly driven by an electric motor via a flexible pinion coupling or a metal laminated coupling. The drive motor can also be an internal combustion engine or a gas turbine.

6. The shaft sleeve of S(SH) type split-case pumps can be made from various materials to prevent shaft corrosion and wear, and the sleeve is replaceable. The pump body and impeller are equipped with replaceable wear rings to prevent wear, ensuring easy replacement, low maintenance costs, and maintaining both operating clearances and high efficiency.

7. The shaft seal of S(SH) type split case pumps can be sealed with packing or mechanical seal. The shaft seal cooling flushing water can enter the shaft seal chamber through the grooves on the opening surface of the pump cover, or through an external cooling water pipe. There is no need to disassemble the inlet and outlet pipes or the motor during maintenance of S(SH) type split case pumps, making repairs convenient. The pump structure and dimensions can be modified according to customer requirements.

From the motor end, the pump shaft rotates clockwise (i.e., the pump intake is on the right side). To meet user requirements, it can be reversed to rotate counterclockwise; the reverse rotation of the pump is indicated by adding the letter "F" at the end of the pump model.
