Carbon buildup is a significant factor leading to the failure of oxygen probes. In the early stages of carbonization in furnace pots (muffle furnaces) or furnace bricks (muffle furnaces), even if the carbon buildup is quite severe, the output potential of the oxygen probe may not be high. It is essential to strictly control the intake of enrichment medium to avoid excess. Otherwise, it can cause severe carbonization of the oxygen probe, leading to damage. Therefore, the intake of enrichment medium should be reasonably controlled to prevent setting an excessively high carbon potential and to prevent carbon buildup in the oxygen probe.
