The commonly used standards for spiral steel pipes are generally divided into: SY/T5037-2023 (industry standard, also known as Spiral Welded Pipe for Ordinary Fluid Transportation), GB/T3091-2015, GB/T9711-2023 PSL1 and PSL2 (national standard, also known as Steel Pipe for Oil and Gas Industry), API-5L (American Petroleum Institute, also known as Pipeline Steel Pipe; with PSL1 and PSL2 levels), and SY/T5040-2008 (Spiral Welded Pipe for Piling).

SY/T5037-2023 is a general standard set by the Ministry of Petroleum, commonly referred to as a "Ministry Standard."

Piling Spiral Welded Steel Pipe (SY5040-2008) is manufactured from hot-rolled steel strip coils as billets, formed into pipes through normal temperature spiral forming, and joined by double-sided submerged arc welding or high-frequency welding. It is used for steel pipes in civil engineering structures, wharfs, bridges, and other foundation piles.
