Water-washed stone, as a decorative building material, plays a significant role in construction. Its natural beauty, diverse options, and excellent performance make it an ideal choice for architectural and landscape design. With proper construction methods and maintenance, water-washed stone can add a unique ambiance and texture to projects, providing a comfortable and pleasant living environment.

Process of washed stone
1. Clean up the grassroots:
Clean away dust, grease, and debris at the grassroots level.
2. Apply base mortar:
Apply base coat of cement mortar, layer by layer; level the bottom layer mortar with a straightedge and scratch it with a wood trowel. After the mortar has fully cured, water it for maintenance.
3. Stipple plaster surface layer:
Scrape a layer of plain cement paste, apply the gravel paste in two coats, ensuring the finish is 1mm higher than the sides of the ground. Subsequently, flatten and compact the gravel paste layer.
4. Maintenance and Care:
Dip the brush in water, brush off the surface mud, recompact and smooth it, then repeat this process 3 to 4 times. Once the surface is clean and the stones are exposed, rinse with clean water, seal it, and assign a specialist for maintenance.
Water-washed stone is a decorative technique that involves mixing natural river or sea pebbles or gravels with cement in a certain proportion, applying the mixture to the base, flattening it with a load-bearing tool, and cleaning off the surface adhesive to reveal the original appearance of the stones. This method is similar to the water-washed stone technique popular in the 1970s and 1980s.

The wall construction may be more challenging, but quality is easily ensured; ground construction is less difficult but prone to cracking and localized settlement. Therefore, the foundation design and construction must guarantee the stability of the subsoil, and reinforced concrete foundation pads may be necessary. Additionally, settlement joints should generally be set at intervals of 5 to 6 meters.
