PTFE bellows compensators, also known as expansion joints, are industrial instruments used in pipeline systems for corrosive media to compensate for thermal expansion and contraction displacements and installation misalignments, reducing pipeline system vibration.
Compensator Installation Precautions
1. The installation of the compensator should be carried out according to the pipeline construction drawings and the compensator installation manual.
2. The pipeline installing the compensator must be properly guided and secured to ensure the compensator functions effectively. Therefore, the installation of guide and support brackets must strictly adhere to the technical information provided by the design department. For the principles of setting guide and support brackets, please refer to the "Wavy Compensator Installation Guide."
3. The bellows used in compensators are formed from thin-walled stainless steel plates, so during transportation, lifting, and welding, it is crucial to avoid damaging the bellows due to impacts, scratches, arc strikes, and welding spatter.
4. Prior to installation, remove any foreign objects from the bellows and pipeline to ensure normal movement of the bellows.
5. Compensators with flow direction requirements should be installed according to the direction of the medium flow arrow.
6. To ensure the bellows is in good working condition, the installation should not use the compensator's deformation, including axial, lateral, and torsional adjustments, to correct the installation position errors of the piping system.
7. After the compensator is installed, remove all transport securing bolts painted yellow before the system is operated.
