46. The pipe network system of the high-pressure fine water mist fire suppression system utilizes stainless steel pipes (304) with anti-corrosion capabilities, as rust buildup in the pipes can block the nozzles and render the system ineffective. The cleanliness of the pipe network system is crucial for the high-pressure fine water mist fire suppression system, thus, rigorous flushing, pressure testing, and blowing must be conducted after the pipeline installation. All pipes are welded using TIG welding.
47. High-pressure fine mist pump set (water supply unit) system composition: consists of fine mist nozzles (open, closed), filters, zone control valve sets (boxes), water tanks, and stainless steel pipelines, etc.
48. High-pressure fine mist pressure switch:
Loosen the top screw of the pressure switch and remove the cover.
2. Connect one cable wire to the common terminal.
3. Connect the additional cable wire to the normally open contact.
After wiring is complete, secure the cover and tighten the screws to restore to original condition.
49. High-pressure fine water mist open system working principle: In the standby condition, the fine water mist system maintains a certain pressure within the pipeline from the pump unit to the front of the zoning control valve box. When the pressure drops below the 1 MPa set start-up pressure of the pressure maintenance pump, the pump starts up, keeping the system pipeline at a stable pressure of (1-1.2) MPa.
50. High-pressure fine mist open system working principle: Upon detection of a fire signal by the detector, the fire alarm control main unit transmits the signal to the electric ball valve within the pump group control cabinet and the zone control valve box. The high-pressure plunger pump automatically starts, and the electric ball valve within the zone control valve box opens. High-pressure water is then piped through and forms a mist spray for fire extinguishing.
51. High-pressure fine mist open system working principle: The pressure switch feedback system in the division control valve box emits a signal, after which the main unit receives the feedback signal and联动ly activates the spray indicator light.
52. Working Principle of High-Pressure Fine Mist Closed System: In the準operational state, the fine mist system maintains a certain pressure within the pipeline from the pump group outlet to the control valve box. When the pipeline pressure drops and falls below the set start-up pressure of the pressure maintenance pump by 1Mpa, the pressure maintenance pump activates, ensuring the system pipeline maintains a stable pressure of (1-1.2) MPa.
53. High-pressure fine mist closed-loop system working principle: Upon detection of a fire signal by the detector, the fire alarm control main unit transmits a signal to the pump group control cabinet. The high-pressure plunger pump starts up, and the electric ball valves in the zone control valve box are opened. The entire pipeline is filled with high-pressure water. Once the temperature of the glass ball in the closed-loop sprinkler head reaches the activation temperature, the glass ball shatters, and the high-pressure water forms a mist through the nozzle for fire extinguishing.
54. Operating Principle of High-Pressure Fine Mist Closed System: The pressure switch feedback system in the sectional control valve box triggers the release signal, upon which the main unit receives the feedback signal and联动activates the spray indicator light.
55. Automatic startup of high-pressure fine water mist system: When a fire occurs within the protected area, the fire detector detects the fire and sends a signal to the fire alarm controller. The fire alarm controller confirms the area of the fire based on the address of the fire detector and then sends a control signal to activate the fire extinguishing system. This initiates the high-pressure plunger pump and opens the corresponding section control valves.
56. Automatic activation of high-pressure fine mist system: After the zone valve is opened, water in the system pipes rapidly reaches working pressure (in closed pre-action systems, the glass ball automatically bursts after the closed spray head detects the bursting temperature), and then sprays through high-pressure fine mist nozzles to create a misting effect, producing fine mist to extinguish fires.
57. Manual Electrical Start for High-Pressure Fine Mist System: Remote Start: When a fire is detected, before the fire detector activates, the electric valve button of the corresponding zone control valve box can be started remotely from the fire control center, to initiate the zone valve. The pump can then automatically start to supply water for fire extinguishing.
58. High-pressure fine mist system manual electrical start: On-site start: When a fire is detected, the local section control valve box can be opened, and the section valve control button pressed to open the section valve for extinguishing.
59. Mechanical emergency start of high-pressure fine mist system: In the event of failure of the fire alarm system, the handle on the area valve can be manually operated to open the area valve for fire extinguishing. Note: The emergency start of a closed fine mist system can be achieved by breaking the glass ball of the closed spray head.
High-pressure fine mist is produced by professional equipment under low design working pressure, forming a mist with droplet accumulation distribution Dv0.99 < 300μm on a plane 1m from the nozzle. High-pressure mist has functions such as cooling, humidifying, dust suppression, fire prevention, and landscaping, and can be used in industrial, breeding, planting, and entertainment fields.
61. Fire Extinguishing Mechanism of High-Pressure Fine Water Mist: Rapid Cooling and Local Asphyxiation — Advanced Dual-Action Fire Extinguishing Mechanism: When water is ejected from a nozzle made of a special material, it forms a mist with particle sizes between 10-100 micrometers, which has a smaller surface area. Upon contact with fire, it rapidly vaporizes, expanding in volume by 1700-5800 times, absorbing a large amount of heat and quickly lowering the temperature of the burning surface; simultaneously, the vaporized water forms steam, enveloping and covering the entire burning area, causing combustion to be asphyxiated due to oxygen deprivation.
62. Fire extinguishing mechanism of high-pressure fine water mist: With a heat absorption effect calculated at 2257 kJ/kg based on the latent heat of 100℃ water evaporation, each fine water mist nozzle can absorb heat at a rate of approximately 300 kW per kilogram of mist emitted, demonstrating its high heat absorption rate and strong cooling effect.
63. Mechanism of extinguishing for high-pressure fine water mist: Asphyxiation effect. After the fine water mist is heated and vaporized, its volume expands abruptly to 1700~5800 times. The steam envelops the burning material tightly, forming a barrier that blocks the entry of fresh air. This causes the combustion material to be oxygen-starved, thus halting the burning process.
64. High-pressure fine water mist fire extinguishing mechanism: After the fine water mist evaporates, the resulting steam quickly envelops the burning material, flames, and smoke, providing strong resistance to the radiant heat of the flames and preventing the spread of the fire.
65. The fire extinguishing mechanism of high-pressure fine water mist: The high-pressure fine water mist not only has a de-smoking and dust-washing effect but also cleans smoke and debris. This is because the ash, carbon particles, and harmful gases from combustion adhere to the fine water droplets, thereby being washed away. Statistics show that in fire accidents, 70% of the deaths are not caused by direct burns but by the inhalation of high-temperature smoke and toxic gases.
66. Mechanism of High-Pressure Fine Water Mist Fire Extinguishing: Wetting action – capable of extinguishing oil fires. The high-pressure fine water mist has a high particle velocity, allowing it to penetrate deep into the surface of the burning material, thereby wetting it and preventing the further generation of combustible gases. Additionally, due to the small particle size of the fine water mist, it does not disturb the liquid surface, causing splashes, and achieves the purpose of extinguishing fires and preventing their spread.
67. High-pressure fine water mist fire extinguishing mechanism: Explanation of three-dimensional movement — enabling full or partial extinguishing. During atomization, some smaller diameter droplets of the high-pressure fine water mist do not travel solely in the direction of the jet. They exhibit lateral and upward swirling movements within the upper space of the nozzle, allowing the fine water mist to fill the entire space of the protected area. The smaller the particle size, the more intense the lateral transfer phenomenon. This is also referred to as three-dimensional fire extinguishing.
68. Mechanism of High-Pressure Fine Mist Fire Extinguishing: Explanation of its ability to extinguish electrical fires and why it is non-conductive during electrical fire extinguishing: The mist droplets have a small diameter (10-100 micrometers), are discontinuous after being sprayed, and can remain suspended in the air for a long time. It requires a large quantity and extended time to coalesce and condense into water mist, making it difficult to form a conductive continuous water stream or surface water area on the electrode surface. Its resistivity is slightly lower than that of air.
69. The open-type fine water mist fire extinguishing system uses water as the medium and employs special atomizing nozzles to break the water stream into fine droplets under specific pressure (usually 14Mpa) for fire suppression. It is a fixed fire extinguishing system characterized by economy and wide application scope, and has become a significant technology to replace Halon fire suppression systems, with a promising future in various applications.
70. Composition and Working Principle of High-Pressure Fine Water Mist: The fine water mist fire extinguishing system consists of a high-pressure fine water mist storage tank, a pump unit for the fine water mist fire extinguishing system (including a high-pressure main pump, a high-pressure standby pump, a pressure regulating pump, a control cabinet for the pump unit, an inlet solenoid valve, an inlet filter, a regulating water tank, etc.), a water replenishment system, a water supply network, a group of zone control valves for the fine water mist fire extinguishing system, fine water mist nozzles, high-pressure fine water mist pipes, and a fire detection and alarm system.
