Typically, UPS power sources on the market are identified by their capacity: smaller ones are marked in "W" (watts); those over 1 kilowatt-hour use "VA" (volt-amps). The "W" and "VA" values differ. This necessitates selecting the appropriate UPS based on specific situations. Generally, small capacity UPS systems (1 kilowatt or less) are marked in "W" for their capacity, while UPS systems ranging from 1KVA to 500KVA are marked in "VA" rather than "W."

How to operate the UPS power supply:

1. Mains power connected to the UPS.

2. Insert the computer's power cable and monitor power cable into the UPS's black output socket.

3. Turn on the UPS power switch for full automatic voltage regulation.

Battery inspection should include checking for severe electrolyte loss and irreversible sulfation on the plates. Irreversible sulfation can be determined by measuring the change in terminal voltage during charge-discharge cycles; the voltage of a lead-acid battery rises rapidly, with some individual cell voltages particularly high, exceeding normal values significantly; and the voltage drops rapidly during discharge. If the battery holds little or no charge, these conditions indicate irreversible sulfation. For fault checking and treatment, first ensure the charging circuit is securely connected; replace any malfunctioning charger and perform maintenance charging and discharging to restore battery capacity. If irreversible sulfation is detected, perform an equalizing charge to recover capacity. For batteries that have been refilled with electrolyte, maintain a controlled charging current of 18A for 10-15 hours.
