Water-washed stone is a construction technique that has gained increasing popularity in recent years. Its essence is quite similar to the water-washed stone technique of the 1960s. While wall construction can be more challenging, quality is easily ensured. Ground construction, on the other hand, is less difficult but prone to cracking and localized settlement. Therefore, foundation design and construction must ensure stability of the subgrade. If necessary, reinforced concrete foundation slabs should be used. Additionally, settlement joints should generally be set at intervals of 5 to 6 meters.

Washed stone precautions;
The cement grade used in washed stone typically ranges above 425.
2. Upon arrival at the site, the gravel must be inspected to ensure minimal color variation, minimal impurities, and full particles.
After all the stones are coated and patched, a roller can be used to flatten and compact the large surface area.
The color powder added to the cement is a UV-resistant powder to prevent the stone pavement from discoloring after a long period of time due to water washing.
The outdoor temperature during construction should be above 5 degrees Celsius to ensure that no hollow sound or detachment occurs.

Method of washed stone
1. Clean the grassroots level:
Clean the dust, oil stains, and debris from the bottom level.
2. Apply base mortar layer:
Apply base coat of cement mortar, layer by layer; level the base mortar with a straightedge, then roughen it with a wooden trowel. After the mortar has fully set, water cure.
3. Gravel coating surface layer:
Apply a layer of plain cement slurry, apply the aggregate slurry in two coats, the finish should be 1mm higher than the sides of the ground, then flatten and compact the aggregate slurry layer.
4. Maintenance and Care:
Dip the brush in water, brush off the surface mud, recompact and smooth it, then repeat this process 3 to 4 times. Once the surface is clean and the stones are visible, rinse thoroughly with clean water, seal it, and assign a specialist for maintenance.

There are many types of small stones used in washed stone, which can be freely combined in different colors and pieced together to create various patterns. Therefore, this decorative material is relatively widely used, beyond outdoor flooring and indoor wall decoration. Sometimes, cleaned stones are placed as needed. There are many types of stone, such as marble, slate, granite, limestone, etc. Among them, there are usually only two types of building stone, namely marble and granite. Cleaned stone is actually the fine particles of these stones.
