Glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) tanks are available in vertical and horizontal configurations, transport tanks, reaction tanks, various chemical storage tanks, food-grade tanks, large GRP containers. They are made with different types of epoxy, furan, and phenolic resins as binders, consisting of a corrosion-resistant inner lining with high resin content, a leakage prevention layer, a fiber-wrapped reinforcing layer, and an outer protective layer, selected based on the medium (storage or transportation) used.
The advantages and features of fiberglass tanks: Fiberglass products boast excellent physical properties, with a higher specific strength compared to steel, cast iron, and plastic. Their thermal conductivity is only 0.5 of that of steel, making them excellent insulators for both heat and electricity. The operating temperature range of the products is -50 to 200°C, and they generally have a pressure resistance below 6.4 MPa, featuring pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, anti-aging, and long service life. They also have the characteristics of light weight, high strength, impermeability, insulation, non-toxicity, and smooth surfaces. Mechanical winding fiberglass containers can adjust the physical and chemical properties of the products to meet the needs of different media and working conditions by changing the resin system or using different reinforcing materials. This ability to adjust through structural layer thickness, winding angle, and wall thickness design is a significant feature of fiber-wound composite materials.
