Product Features: Press-nut studs, also known as press-nut bolts or studs, are fasteners used for sheet metal, thin plates, enclosures, and cabinets. These studs have a hexagonal shape at one end and a cylindrical hexagonal edge with a chamfered slot in between. The internal shape features an internal thread. They are pressed into pre-drilled holes in thin plates (the hole diameter is generally slightly smaller than the cylindrical outer diameter of the press-nut stud) using a press, causing plastic deformation around the hole. The deformed section is forced into the chamfered slot of the stud, securing the press-nut stud to the thin plate, thus forming an effective fixed internal thread on the plate.
