Virtual driving, also known as automotive driving simulation or car simulation, refers to the use of modern high-tech methods such as: real-time 3D image generation technology, automotive dynamics simulation physical systems, wide-field display technology (such as multi-channel stereoscopic projection systems), six-degree-of-freedom motion platforms (or three-degree-of-freedom motion platforms), user input hardware systems, stereophonic sound systems, and central control systems, to provide an immersive driving experience in a virtual environment that closely mimics the visual, auditory, and physical sensations of driving a car.
