The three major application fields of PC engineering plastics are glass assembly, automotive industry, and electronics and electrical industries. Secondary applications include industrial mechanical parts, CDs, packaging, office equipment such as computers, medical and health care, films, recreational and protective equipment. PC can be used for window glass, PC laminates are widely used as protective windows in banks, embassies, detention centers, and public places, as cabin covers for aircraft, lighting equipment, industrial safety shields, and bulletproof glass.
PC boards can be used for various signs, such as gas pump dials, car dashboards, storage and outdoor commercial signs, dot sliding indicators. PC resin is used in automotive lighting systems, dashboard systems, and interior decoration systems, serving as headlight covers, reinforced front and rear bumpers for vehicles, mirror frames, door frame sleeves, control rod covers, flow baffles, and as connectors for junction boxes, plugs, sockets, sleeves, washers, TV conversion devices, communication cables beneath telephone line brackets, circuit breakers, switchboards, relay casings. PC can also be used for low-load components in household appliances like motors, vacuum cleaners, hair washers, coffee machines, toasters, power tool handles, various gears, worm gears, bushes, guides, and refrigerator shelves. PC is an ideal material for optical disc storage media.
PC Bottles (containers) are transparent, lightweight, and have excellent impact resistance. They are resistant to high temperatures and corrosive cleaning solutions, making them suitable as recyclable bottles (containers). PC and PC alloys are used for computer frames, casings, and auxiliary machines, as well as printer components. Modified PC is resistant to high-energy radiation sterilization, and is suitable for autoclaving and baking sterilization, used in blood collection equipment, blood oxygenators, surgical instruments, kidney dialyzers, and more. PC can be used for helmets and safety hats, protective masks, sunglasses, and sports eye guards. PC film is widely used in printing charts, packaging, and membrane rectifiers.
The development of polycarbonate applications is moving towards high-composite, high-functional, specialized, and serialized directions. Various product-specific grades and brands have been launched, including those for CDs, automobiles, office equipment, enclosures, packaging, lighting, and films.
