Urea pumps are the power components of the automotive urea supply system, also known as urea metering pumps or urea feeders, used for urea injection in the exhaust gas treatment system of diesel engines. They pump urea solution from the urea tank, utilizing a motor-driven urea pump to establish the required pressure in the urea pump circuit, which then injects the urea into the nozzle. The urea is atomized through the fine nozzle holes and sprayed into the engine's exhaust manifold. Under the high temperature of the exhaust, it quickly vaporizes into ammonia gas and mixes with the exhaust. This mixture, upon reaching the catalyst, undergoes a reverse reaction with nitrogen oxides in the exhaust under the catalyst's action, forming nitrogen gas and water, thereby reducing the harmful NOx emissions in the exhaust.
