Electrostatic Separator, also known as Electrostatic Separation Equipment, separates conductive materials from non-conductive materials using high-voltage static electricity, isolating metals from non-metals within circuit boards. It is primarily used for recycling waste circuit boards, cables, aluminum-plastic sheets, packaging bags, aluminum-plastic pipes, aluminum foil, and other metals. The Electrostatic Separation Equipment is a crucial component of circuit board recycling equipment and copper rice machines.
Environmental-friendly electrostatic separators and air pressure separators can separate various conductive and non-conductive materials, as well as metals from non-metals. They are mainly used for waste printed circuit boards (copper and PCB), aluminum-plastic panels, packaging bags, milk bags, Wahaha bottle caps, aluminum-plastic pipes, aluminum foil paper, and metal ore selection. The air pressure separator features an environmentally friendly three-in-one dust collector (cyclone dust collector + electrostatic precipitator + air purifier), with an aesthetically pleasing appearance and strong applicability.
Conductive materials, upon being electrified, release the electricity into the ground through a grounded rotating drum, and due to the drum's inertia, they are thrown into the receiving hopper for conductive materials. Non-conductive materials, however, due to their poor conductivity, adhere to the surface of the rotating drum and are swept off into the receiving hopper for non-conductive materials as the drum rotates. Some of the conductive and non-conductive materials fall into the middle receiving hopper due to various factors such as drum speed, the adjustment of the equipment baffles, particle size of the materials, and the amount of electricity received, and are then reprocessed by the feeding machine before being sorted again.
Operating Principle
The electrostatic separation equipment series, utilizing the phenomenon of static electricity for substances (such as electrostatic separators, high-voltage electrostatic separators, and electrostatic sorters), is a series of technologies for separation, purification, and grading. It utilizes the frictional, hetero-charge, and dielectric properties of materials, enabling the application of strong high-voltage electric fields with a voltage difference of approximately 1.5MV/m in a tunable 70KV narrow gap, where the static electricity, gravity, and centrifugal force are harnessed. This excites different objects with varying charges, and the separation of mixed objects is then performed based on the differences in their electrostatic release behavior, gravitational force, and the speed of their projectile motion, among other effective forces.
Static separation process
The electrostatic separation process is simple, easy to maintain and operate, and the equipment itself has dust collection capabilities; being a dry process, there are no issues with wastewater pollution or treatment, which is beneficial for environmental and labor protection. Electrostatic separation is a technology with great development potential and a vast market前景.
Firstly, dry and crush the waste plastic into 10mm pieces, as well as smaller fragments under 6mm; add a regulator and surfactant at the 1*10-6 grade to enhance its triboelectric charging; vigorously stir to achieve triboelectric charging, with different plastics producing opposite charges. When the charged plastic particles pass through a 120kV high-voltage electric field, they are attracted to the poles—positively charged particles are drawn to the negative pole, while negatively charged particles are drawn to the positive pole. The bottom of this device features two baffles that can redirect uncharged plastic particles back into the unit for separation.
Applicable Materials
1. Separation of aluminum-plastic composites (e.g., aluminum-plastic panels, aluminum-plastic pipes, aluminum-plastic packaging materials)
2. Separation of copper-plastic compounds and circuit boards (e.g., wires, cables, circuit boards, etc.)
3. Combinations of metals and non-metals, blends of various polymers, and mixtures of any polar materials; separation of objects of the same substance with different diameters (such as: extracting metals from various smelting slag, refining and purifying various mineral raw materials, extracting metals and non-metallic chips from fly ash, etc.); extraction and separation of mixed static separation equipment.
4. Sorting, fiber inspection, product selection, and many other separation, purification, and isolation processes for mixtures.
Equipment Advantages
1. Due to the generation of tens of thousands of volts of high voltage internally during operation, extra caution must be taken to prevent accidents. Even when the machine stops working, high voltage charges remain inside, posing a danger to operators who may inadvertently come into contact with them. Therefore, our company has specifically designed an automatic discharge function to provide reliable protection for the operators.
2. After running for a period, the equipment generates a large amount of dust internally, which directly affects the sorting performance. Our company has specially designed an intermittent dusting device to ensure the equipment maintains optimal sorting results.
3. The electrostatic separator utilizes a stable high-voltage power supply. However, due to weather humidity or peak electricity usage times, the voltage may fluctuate, which can affect the sorting quality. The company has specifically designed an automatic voltage regulation device to maintain a stable and consistent high-voltage power supply.
4. Static separation equipment, depending on the material, employs a controllable feeding method or a separate variable-frequency speed control feeding system to ensure uniform entry of materials into the corona electric field, achieving optimal separation effects.
5. Matching Products: A series of products including crushers, fine crushers, feeding machines, conveyors, dust removal systems, storage silos, grading screens, etc., with high levels of automation. Different materials require different decomposition and separation equipment.
6. Electrostatic separator equipment is easy to repair, operate, and use. Speed and feeding adjustments are all controlled by variable frequency, with national standard motors for easy operation and maintenance.
