In construction projects, well-point dewatering is commonly used to keep the excavated soil dry. A certain number of well-point pipes are installed prior to the excavation of the foundation pit. Deep well pumps are then used to pump out groundwater, lowering the water level to a lower point, ensuring the foundation pit remains dry and allowing construction to proceed normally.
