Product Introduction: Unidirectional Stretch Geotextile Grid

A unidirectional stretched geogrid is a soil reinforcement material primarily made from high molecular polymer, enhanced with certain UV-resistant and antioxidant additives. Through unidirectional stretching, the originally disordered chain-shaped molecules are reoriented to form a linear state. It is then extruded into a thin plate and punched into a regular grid, and finally stretched longitudinally to achieve high-strength properties. This process aligns the polymer into a directional linear state, forming a uniformly distributed, high-node strength, elongated oval mesh structure.

 

This structure boasts a high tensile strength and modulus, with tensile strength reaching 100-200 MPa, close to that of low-carbon steel, significantly superior to traditional or existing reinforcing materials. The product exhibits ultra-high early-stage (elongation of 2-5%) tensile strength and modulus, providing an ideal force-bearing and diffusing连锁 system for soil. With a tensile strength of over 150 MPa, it adapts to various soil types and is widely used as a reinforcing and strengthening material.

Primary Applications of Single-Way Plastic Geogrid:

 

1. Single-woven plastic geogrid for reinforcing soft foundation: The geogrid can quickly enhance the bearing capacity of the foundation, control the settlement, and effectively distribute the load over a wider subgrade, thereby reducing the thickness of the subgrade, lowering construction costs, shortening the construction period, and extending the service life.

 

2. Single-axial plastic geogrid for reinforcing asphalt or concrete pavements: The geogrid is laid at the bottom of the asphalt or concrete layer, which can reduce rut depth, extend the pavement's fatigue life, and also reduce the thickness of the asphalt or concrete surface, thereby saving costs.

 

3. Single-direction plastic geogrids are used for reinforcing embankment slopes and retaining walls: Traditional embankment construction, especially for high embankments, often requires overfilling and the shoulders are difficult to compact, leading to frequent occurrences of slope erosion and instability due to rainwater seepage in later stages. Additionally, using gentler slopes requires more land area, and retaining walls face similar issues. Reinforcing embankment slopes or retaining walls with geogrids can reduce land usage by half, extend service life, and lower construction costs by 20-50%.

 

4. Single-direction plastic geogrids for reinforcing river, lake, and sea embankments: Can be used to form gabions, combined with the geogrids to prevent erosion and collapse of embankments due to sea waves. Gabions are permeable, which can mitigate the impact of waves and prolong the service life of embankments, saving labor and materials, and shortening the construction period.

 

5. Unidirectional Geogrid for Waste Landfill Management: When combined with other soil composite materials, the geogrid effectively addresses issues such as uneven ground settlement and emission of derived gases in waste landfills, while also significantly enhancing the storage capacity of the landfill.

 

6. Special Applications of Single-Way Geogrid: Resistant to low temperatures, after 200 cycles of repeated cold and hot conditions from -45℃ to -50℃, all performance indicators meet the requirements. It has passed the test of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and is suitable for northern regions with low, rich, and high ice content frozen soils, as well as poor geological conditions.

 

Installation Method for Unidirectional Geogrid

 

When used for subgrade and pavement, the construction method is the same as that of two-way geogrid.

 

When used for reinforced soil retaining walls, the construction method is as follows:

 

1. Establish the foundation, constructing according to the designed wall system. When using precast reinforced concrete panels, they are typically 12-15 cm thick and supported on precast concrete foundations. The width should not exceed 30 cm, the thickness should be at least 20 cm, and the burial depth should be no less than 60 cm to prevent ground frost heave.

 

2. Level the foundation wall, excavate and level according to design requirements. Soft soil should be compacted or replaced, compacted to the required density, slightly exceeding the wall's range.

 

3. Rebar laying: The primary strength direction of the rebar should be perpendicular to the wall, secured with dowel pins.

 

4. Wall backfilling should use mechanical backfilling, with a minimum distance of 15 cm between the wheel and reinforcement materials. The compacted soil thickness should be approximately 20-15 cm after compaction.

 

5. During wall construction, the wall area should be lined with geotextile to prevent soil erosion.
