Standard metal pallet sizes: 1200mm*1000mm or 1200mm*800mm; Australian pallet sizes commonly 1140mm*1140mm; American pallet sizes typically 1219mm*1016mm (40" x 48"); Japanese pallet sizes usually 1100mm*1100mm.
Why must the pallet size not exceed 1.2 meters? Pallets are often used in conjunction with containers. The size of the pallet must match the container size to ensure proper loading; otherwise, the space in the container would be wasted. The internal width of a sea container is 2.35 meters, while the pallet is about 1.1 meters wide, allowing for two pallets to be placed side by side, maximizing container space utilization.
