Heavy-duty overhead beam shelving introduction:
Heavy-duty shelving, also known as beam shelving or location shelving, falls under the category of pallet racking and is a common type of storage shelving in China. It features a fully assembled structure with vertical columns and beams, offering a simple yet effective design. Functional accessories such as partitions, steel deck plates (wooden deck plates), metal wire mesh decks, storage bin guides, and oil drum racks can be added according to the characteristics of the storage unit packaging equipment. This meets the storage needs of various types of packaging equipment.
Key Features
1. Goods are typically stored on shelves after being packed in unit load devices such as pallets and storage cages. Each unit usually weighs no more than 4000kg, with two units typically placed on each shelf.
2. It is one of the commonly and widely used shelving options, suitable for the vast majority of warehouses or product goods.
3. Features random selection of goods. Handling equipment like forklifts can reach any storage location for operations, making storage convenient and quick!
4. Storage operations are conducted using mechanical handling equipment.
5. Unit shelving spans typically measure within 4m, depths within 1.5m, low and high bay warehouse shelving heights usually within 12m, and extra-high bay shelving heights generally within 30m (such warehouses are mostly automated, with total height composed of several segments of columns up to 12m).
6. Can freely adjust the height of each layer in 75mm increments.
Heavy-duty shelving product structure:
Heavy-duty (beam-type) racking is generally made of cold-rolled special-shaped steel, with columns formed from 80 (90) x 60 (70) Ω-shaped steel with diamond-shaped holes on the surface, and beams made of 80x50-100x50-120x50-140x50-16050 welded beam connectors make up the assembly, commonly using pallets instead of shelves for easier forklift handling. Designed for a load capacity of 1 to 5 tons per layer, the surface is electrostatically powder-coated for enhanced waterproof, rustproof, and corrosion resistance. It boasts a high safety factor, features a plug-in assembly, eliminating the need for screws or welding, making assembly extremely convenient, maximizing space utilization, and providing storage capabilities.
Features of Heavy Duty Rack Beam Shelves:
1. The pillar group diagonally reinforces from top to bottom in successive increments, resulting in a more rational structure.
2. One-piece molded beam, capable of mounting removable signage, compatible with plain steel sheeting.
3. The columns have multiple foldable surfaces, offering robust and stable construction.
4. The double-sided hanging teeth on the hanging plate enhance the beam's load-bearing condition.
Installation Method:
Firstly, install the horizontal (cross bracing) and diagonal (diagonal bracing) using screws onto the posts. Place the two assembled post panels (1 post panel = 2 posts + several horizontal braces + several diagonal braces) upright on the ground, adjusting the distance between them to match the beam length, then attach the beam.
When installing the auxiliary frame, first assemble the vertical pillar sections, then adjust the distance between the assembled vertical pillar sections on one side of the main frame to the length of the beam and attach the beam.
Number of horizontal and diagonal pullings:
Pole Length: 1000~1200mm, one diagonal, two horizontal pulls
Pole Length: 1300~2200mm, two diagonal and two or three horizontal struts
Pole Length: 2300~3200mm with three diagonal and two or three horizontal ties
Pole Length: 3300~4200mm, with four diagonal and two or three horizontal ties
Pole Length: 4300~5200mm with five diagonal ties, two or three horizontal ties
The number of horizontal and diagonal cables is as shown in the diagram. Generally, the calculation method is one diagonal cable per 600mm, with one on top and one on the bottom, and an additional horizontal cable can be added above as needed.
Categories
Heavy-duty shelving categories: Beam shelving; Heavy-duty pallet racking; Narrow-aisle pallet racking; Heavy-duty storage and logistics shelving; Mobile heavy-duty shelving; Sliding shelving, etc.
Advantages
1. Fully assembled structure, allows for flexible combination, easy installation and disassembly.
2. The posts are formed by bending hot-rolled plates at multiple angles, thus the shelves have a high bearing capacity.
3. The pillars are assembled in a modular structure, with the beams connected to the pillars using steel clip connectors, secured with a safety key to prevent detachment.
4. Poles are equipped with adjustable holes every 75mm, allowing for easy adjustment according to the height of the goods.
5. Ideal for high stacking of materials, effectively utilizing warehouse space for categorized material management. Compatible with forklifts or stackers.
Heavy-duty overhead beam shelving applications:
Heavy-duty racks feature low cost, safety, reliability, and easy assembly and disassembly; suitable for manual handling, each level can carry over 800kg. Ideal for manual handling of box-shaped goods or for loading loose heavy items with parts bins and trolleys.
Surface Treatment Requirements:
1. Process Flow: Rough casting → De-greasing → Rust removal → Surface adjustment → Phosphating → Drying → Electrostatic powder coating (or galvanizing) → Curing → Packaging
2. Surface treatment is done via electrostatic powder coating with epoxy resin, with a coating thickness of 60~80 micrometers.
3. The adhesion of electrostatic powder coating meets the 0-grade requirement of GB9286.5-88 standard.
4. Hardness (wear resistance) is over 100 times that of ordinary nitrocellulose paint, meeting the 2H requirement of GB6739-86 standard, meaning it passes the 2H pencil test without any scratches.
5. Corrosion Resistance (Hydrochloric Acid Test) GB1771-91 exceeds 500 hours.
