Karachi Port is located in the southwest of the Indus River Delta in southern Pakistan, bordering the north side of the Arabian Sea, and serves as a port for Pakistan. On March 17th of this year, a notification released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in Karachi stated that importers in Pakistan, when importing vehicles (whether complete or in parts), mobile phones, cigarettes, jewelry, cosmetics, personal care products, electronic and household appliances, among other products, are required to pay a guarantee deposit when issuing letters of credit.
2. Pakistan has imposed an anti-dumping duty of 24.04% on billets from China, effective from June 22 of this year, for a term of five years, to protect its domestic steel industry.
3. August 1, 2016: New Import Customs Regulations in Pakistan: Clearance documents must include a formal bank receipt between the consignee and shipper, no Photoshop alterations allowed, and no falsification. Any company found in violation will be added to the customs blacklist at the Pakistani port of destination.
4. The global Harmonized System (HS) code is the first six digits, while Pakistan uses the first eight digits. For example, HS Code: 8544-4210 refers to USB cables, and HS Code: 8504-4090 refers to mobile power banks.
