The entire processing process is completed in a modern factory, utilizing hot-press forming technology. Due to the high thermal conductivity between the aluminum skin and the honeycomb, the thermal expansion and contraction of the inner and outer aluminum skins are synchronized; the honeycomb aluminum skin features small holes, allowing free gas flow within the panel; the sliding installation clip system prevents structural deformation during thermal expansion and contraction. The main material for the panel is 3003H24 alloy aluminum sheet or 5052AH14 high manganese alloy aluminum sheet, with panel thickness ranging from 0.8 to 1.5mm of fluorocarbon roller coated sheet or color light-resistant baked paint, which is superior to PVDF in scratch resistance, resistance to acid rain corrosion and discoloration, and self-cleaning properties. The base panel thickness is from 0.6 to 1.0mm, with a total thickness of 25mm.

The aluminum honeycomb panel features a central hexagonal honeycomb structure made of aluminum, with a low density (approximately 3-7 kg per square meter). It is one-fifth the weight of a solid wood panel of the same thickness and area, one-sixth the weight of glass, and one-seventh the weight of aluminum. This reduces building load and cost. Due to the air-filled intermediate layer, it provides sound insulation (sound insulation rating up to 30dB) and thermal insulation (thermal resistance up to 0.02 (㎡·K/W)). It is non-toxic, fire-resistant to B1 level, waterproof, moisture-proof, and free of harmful gas emissions. It has a high specific strength and specific modulus (structural modulus is 1.7 times that of ribbed structures), is not prone to deformation, and completely overcomes the shortcomings of other decorative panels, such as deformation and central collapse when the single piece area is large. It is easy to process, can be cut and folded to any shape, and the surface fluorocarbon coating can ensure a product life of over 30 years. The aluminum honeycomb panel has an extremely high level of flatness, good seismic performance, and is only one-eighth the weight of glass curtain walls. A 22mm thick standard component can bear a load of over 700 kg when simply supported for 1 meter and with a deflection of 10mm.

The decorative panels for aluminum honeycomb panels are typically made from grades such as 3003, 5005, while 1100 alloy sheets with low alloy content are less commonly used. The decorative surface is coated using spray or roll coating methods, with polyester or fluorocarbon paint as the coating material. For exterior panels, it is preferable to use spray-coated panels, and they should have three or more coatings with a paint film thickness of ≥40μm to ensure the durability of the coating.
