Reinforced plastics made with glass fiber or its products as the reinforcing material. Known as glass fiber reinforced plastics or glass reinforced plastics. Due to the different types of resins used, there are polyester glass reinforced plastics, epoxy glass reinforced plastics, and phenolic glass reinforced plastics. Glass is hard and brittle, with excellent transparency and properties like high-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance; at the same time, steel is hard and not easily broken, also with high-temperature resistance. Thus, people began to think that if a material could be created that possesses the hardness, high-temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance of glass, as well as the hard and unbreakable characteristics of steel, it would certainly have great utility. After research and testing, such a composite material was finally developed.
