Standard低碳 hot-rolled round steel billets (GB701-65)


Standard low-carbon hot-rolled round steel billets are made from low-carbon ordinary carbon structural steel or carbon structural steel with a lower yield point. They are a type of wire rod widely used due to their high demand and versatility, also known as soft wire.


Main Applications: Plain steel wire is primarily used for reinforcing concrete and reinforced concrete structures in construction. It can also be cold drawn into steel wire for bundling purposes.


2. Plain Low-Carbon Steel Untwisted Controlled-Air and Hot-Rolled Wire Rods (ZBH4403-88)


Uncoiled cold-rolled and hot-rolled wire rods are produced by an uncoiling high-speed wire rod mill and then controlled cooled, maintaining the same material as standard wire. However, these wire rods offer superior dimensional accuracy, good surface quality, and higher mechanical properties.


Main Applications: Cold and hot-rolled wire rod size accuracy is divided into three grades: A, B, and C. A, B, and C grade accuracies are suitable for uses such as wire drawing, construction, packaging, and welding rods. B and C grade accuracies are suitable for processing into bolts, screws, and nuts.


3. Carbon Steel Wire Rod (GB4354-84) - Carbon steel wire rod is manufactured from carbon structural steel. It is one of the types of wire rod with high usage in the wire material category.


Main Applications: *Carbon steel wire rod is primarily used for manufacturing carbon spring steel wire, oil-quenched and tempered carbon spring steel wire, prestressed steel wire, high-strength carbon structural steel wire, galvanized wire, and galvanized stranded wire rope, etc.


4. Carbon Steel Untwisted Controlled-Age, Hot-Rolled Wire Rods (ZBH44002-88)

11. Hot-rolled steel billets for alloy tool steel (GB 1299-77)


Alloy tool steel is a type of steel produced by adding alloying elements such as chromium, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, silicon, manganese, nickel, and cobalt to the matrix of carbon tool steel. Compared to carbon tool steel, it boasts excellent hardenability, low tendency to crack during heat treatment, and high wear and heat resistance. The hot-rolled wire rod of alloy tool steel is made from 33 steel grades from 5 steel groups, manufactured by units such as Dalian Iron and Steel Plant, Benxi Iron and Steel Plant, and Shaanxi Iron and Steel Plant.


Main Applications: Suitable for the manufacturing of gauges, cutting tools, cold and hot die molds, impact-resistant tools, etc.


12. Hot-rolled Spring Steel Wire (GB1222-84)


Spring steel is a type of steel used for manufacturing springs and other elastic elements. Springs and elastic elements primarily utilize their elastic deformation to absorb and store energy, aiming to mitigate vibrations, impacts, or enable mechanical movements. As they operate under conditions of impact, vibration, or long-term uniform cyclic stress, spring steel is required to have high yield strength, especially a high yield-to-tensile strength ratio (the ratio of yield strength to tensile strength) and high fatigue strength with good elasticity, as well as high resistance to high temperatures and corrosion. The spring steel should also possess good surface quality.


There are two types of spring steel, carbon spring steel and alloy spring steel, totaling 17 grades.


Main Application: Hot-rolled steel wire rod for springs is primarily used in the production of various types of helical springs.


13. Heat-rolled wire for ball bearing steel (YB9-68)


Ball bearing steel, commonly referred to as bearing steel, is a type of steel used to manufacture the rings (shafts) and rolling elements (balls) for various rolling bearings. Due to its specialized application, bearing steel must possess high and uniform hardness and wear resistance, as well as high elasticity and fatigue strength. It should also have sufficient toughness and hardenability, along with some corrosion resistance in atmospheric conditions or lubricants. Special-purpose rolling bearings may require additional properties such as high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, non-magnetism, ultra-low temperatures, high precision, and long service life. Consequently, the selection of bearing steel and the quality requirements for the steel are more stringent than for general steel.


Bearings steel generally refers to high-carbon chromium steel, along with carburized bearings steel and high-carbon chromium stainless bearings steel. There are five steel grades commonly used for hot-rolled billets for ball bearing production.


Main Application: Hot-rolled steel wire for ball bearing steel is mainly used for manufacturing ball bearings (balls).


14. Stainless Steel Rod (GB4356-84)


Stainless steel round bars are hot-rolled from various grades of stainless steel with different microstructures.


Main Applications: Stainless steel wire rod is primarily used for producing stainless steel wire, spring steel wire, top forging steel wire, and wire ropes for stainless steel wires. Based on the main applications in the industry, stainless steel wire rod can also be categorized into stainless steel and acid-resistant stainless steel wire rod.


15. Welding Stainless Steel Wire Rod (GB4241-84)


Welding-grade stainless steel wire rod differs chemically from general stainless steel wire rod. To ensure its excellent welding properties and enhance weld quality, the significant characteristics of the welding-grade stainless steel wire rod in terms of composition are low carbon content, minimal amounts of toxic impurities like phosphorus and sulfur, and higher nickel and chromium content.


Main Application: Primarily used for manufacturing welding rod steel cores and welding wires.
