Ball valves are a widely adopted type of new valve, featuring the following advantages:
Low fluid resistance, with the same drag coefficient as a pipe section of the same length.
2. Simple structure, compact size, and light weight.
3. Tightly reliable, ball valves widely utilize plastic for sealing surfaces, offering excellent sealing properties and are extensively used in vacuum systems.
4. Easy to operate, quick to open and close; it takes just a 90° rotation from fully open to fully closed, ideal for long-distance control.
5. Easy to maintain, the ball valve has a simple structure, and the sealing rings are typically movable, making them easy to remove and replace.
6. When fully open or closed, the sealing surfaces of the ball and valve seat are isolated from the medium. The medium passing through does not cause erosion of the valve sealing surface.
7. Wide application range, from a few millimeters to several meters in diameter, suitable for both high vacuum and high pressure conditions. Valves of this type are generally installed horizontally within pipelines.
