Flat nuts and chamfered round nuts are usually supplied with slender rods, although some customers occasionally require thicker rods. The chamfering of the rod is at the manufacturer's discretion. Since flat nuts and chamfered round nuts are produced using low-carbon steel, they do not require heat treatment and are primarily left without surface treatment or zinc plating. Attention should be given to preventing rod blemishes and scratches, as well as ensuring the straightness of the long rod. However, for flat nuts and chamfered round nuts produced by cold heading, stress-relieving heat treatment should be applied to avoid bolt "reversal."
Flat washers, chamfered round washers, including semi-circular head bolts, countersunk head bolts, tenon bolts, and ribbed bolts. Among them, the semi-circular head square neck bolts are widely used, extensively applied, and have a large export volume (similar to German standard DIN603). These products are coarse in manufacture, with larger size tolerances and lower thread accuracy (US Unified Thread 2A, Metric 8g), lower performance grade (SAE2), and are generally made of low-carbon steel, with a small amount made of medium-carbon steel.
