I. Product Introduction

1.1 Overview

It features high measurement accuracy, simple installation and maintenance, and a long service life."

1.2 Working Principle

The multi-layer time-difference flow meter utilizes multiple sets of ultrasonic transducers, installed in pairs (one pair per layer) on both sides of the canal. It collects and controls the transmission and reception of ultrasonic waves by the transducers of each layer at different times. The water flow rate is indirectly calculated by detecting the time difference of the ultrasonic waves propagating upstream and downstream in the water. The flow rate of each layer is:

By calculating the respective flow rates through stratification, the average flow rate of the cross-section can be determined. After obtaining this flow rate, the flow area can be calculated by combining the liquid level measured by the liquid level sensor with the inherent dimensions of the container, thus determining the flow rate of the cross-section.

1.3 Equipment composition

This flow measurement set mainly consists of a box-type ultrasonic open-channel flow meter (including multiple pairs of ultrasonic transducers, a collection controller, and a high-precision electronic water gauge), transmission modules, and a power supply unit.

1.4 Product Features

Our company, through statistical analysis of the functions and features of open-channel flow measurement equipment from numerous domestic and foreign manufacturers, identified numerous common issues (such as diverse channel structures, poor water quality, excessive floating debris, sedimentation, and water-blocking situations). To address the limitations of traditional products, we have specifically designed and developed this flow measurement system. After practical application in numerous projects, it has achieved excellent performance.

Multi-layered Structure: This flow measurement system employs a multi-layered design, measuring the velocity at different water depths through multiple readings, and calculating the average velocity using mathematical modeling methods, ensuring high accuracy.

Box structure: Multi-layer ultrasonic transducer groups, water level gauges, and collection controllers are all embedded in one box, eliminating the difficulty of aligning transducers and wiring during on-site installation. Additionally, the water entry port of the box features a trumpet-shaped structure, which prevents water blockage, reduces the attachment of aquatic plants, floating debris, etc., significantly reducing maintenance workload.

Due to the multi-layer sensor structure of this flow measurement system, a layer velocity distribution model can be established after a period of operation. Even if a layer experiences a fault, this device can still operate normally.

The ultrasonic transducers used are powered by high power, featuring strong signal transmission capabilities and high reception sensitivity, enabling normal operation even under harsh conditions.
