2 Application Fields
The IF-05 digital weir-slot water head measuring sensor utilizes standard flow measurement structures like the Parshall flume, "V" slot, and other weir slots, along with their stable water level-discharge relationships, to measure water levels and calculate discharge. It can be paired with various types of flow measurement structures for real-time measurement and计量 of dam leakage, water environmental detection, effluent measurement, and hydrological surveys.
The output data from the water level sensor is directly transmitted to the PC, where the computer handles the calculation, display, and recording of water level and flow parameters. Up to 32 water level sensors with built-in RS485 output functionality can be connected simultaneously on a single shielded twisted pair cable, enabling group measurement by computers and data processing.
This model instrument boasts high sensitivity and resolution (water level measurement resolution of 0.5mm or higher), with stable and reliable performance, no temperature drift, and overcomes the shortcomings of poor reliability in immersion-type water level sensors and ultrasonic flow meters.
3 Structure, Working Principle
The IF-05 digital water level sensor is composed of a photoelectric switch rotary encoder, measuring wheel, float, measuring cable, balancing weight, still water well, and protective cover. The encoder is a full-scale photoelectric switch rotary encoder with ultra-low torque. Its coding component is a stainless steel disc, and the reading element is an imported high-quality photoelectric switch. The measuring wheel on its shaft suspends the measuring cable, float, and balancing weight. The float, measuring cable, and balancing weight are all made of stainless steel and corrosion-resistant plastic, offering excellent mechanical properties and environmental adaptability. The still water well of the sensor is a Φ100mm-Φ120mm diameter stainless steel fine well, easy to install, and capable of long-term operation in severely polluted and corrosive waterways.
The rotary encoder is mounted at the top of the stilling well, which is installed in the flow weir trough. As the water level in the trough changes, the float in the stilling well drives the measuring cable to rotate the measuring wheel and the photoelectric switch, causing the encoder to rotate and output a 9-15 bit Gray code data corresponding to the water level. The range of the water level sensor is 0-250mm, 0-500mm, 0-1000mm, and 0-2000mm, etc., which can be used with various types of troughs to monitor different flow rates.
The water level sensor of the open channel flow meter, along with the stilling well, can also be installed on the shore and connected to the measuring flume via a connecting pipe.
