Selection factors
1. Use of compressed air.
2. Use pressure.
3. Peak and off peak demand air volume. If the pressure difference between high and low usage reaches 3 bar, it is necessary to consider "high and low pressure diversion", and then choose different models of air compressors based on the changes in peak and off peak load. For example, centrifugal (single machine>75CMM) or spiral (single machine<60CMM) is used for "base load", and high-pressure air machines and large air storage tanks are used for "variable load".
4. Different forms and grades of dryers and precision filters should be selected and configured according to different gas quality requirements. Excessive quality wastes energy, while insufficient quality affects the process, and must be carefully considered.
5. The control technology of air compressors is advancing rapidly, with technologies such as "multi machine interlocking", "variable frequency transmission", and "remote monitoring" effectively suppressing centrifugal BOV and spiral empty vehicle waste (saving 25-40% of electricity costs), reducing backup capacity and investment (15-30%), and stabilizing gas supply pressure (plus or minus 0.1 bar).
6. The operational efficiency should not only compare the nominal horsepower and air volume on the catalog, but also focus on the actual "performance curve" and "air volume per horsepower".
7. When installing, consider the size of the computer room space, ventilation conditions, noise isolation, waste heat, wastewater recovery, etc., all of which affect the use of energy. In addition, 'centralized' has lower installation, maintenance, and control costs compared to 'distributed', and can also reduce peripheral devices.
8. As for the cooling methods, there are two types: air cooling and water cooling. Air cooling does not require additional investment in cooling tower rainwater, but must have good ventilation. Water cooling ensures that the operating temperature is not affected by the environment, which is beneficial for the service life of the air compressor, except for the disadvantages of icing, bursting, and blockage.
9. The stability of voltage demand and voltage drop in power planning must be met. Centrifuges are usually at high voltage and cannot be moved at all. When starting, it will cause impact on the power grid and should be operated regularly.
10. The maintenance room should have appropriate maintenance space and necessary lifting facilities and access channels, and engineering personnel and maintenance should also receive different professional training in maintenance.
