Fire-resistant
Exterior rock wool board raw materials are made from natural volcanic rock, serving as non-combustible building materials and fire-resistant materials.
Primary fire-resistant features:
Fire-rated A1, effectively prevents the spread of fire.
The size is extremely stable; it will not stretch, shrink, or deform in a fire.
High-temperature resistant, melting point above 1000°C.
No smoke or burning droplets/particles produced in fire.
No harmful environmental substances or gases are released in case of fire.
Insulation and thermal retention
The exterior rock wool board features fine, long, and flexible fibers with low slag content. Consequently, it has a low thermal conductivity coefficient, offering excellent thermal insulation properties.
Acoustic Noise Reduction
Rock wool is an ideal soundproofing material; its abundance of long, fine fibers form a porous interconnected structure, making Sika Rock wool an excellent sound absorption and noise reduction material.
Hydrophobic
Water-repellent mineral wool products have high water-repellency rate; low water absorption, no capillary penetration.
Moisture-resistant properties
Rock wool has a moisture absorption rate of less than 0.2% in environments with high relative humidity. The quality moisture absorption rate is less than 0.3% as tested according to ASTM C1104 or ASTM 1104M methods.
Non-corrosive
Rock wool has stable chemical properties with a pH value of 7-8, neutral or slightly alkaline, suitable for carbon steel and stainless steel.
All metal materials such as aluminum are non-corrosive.
Safety & Environmentally Friendly
Rock wool is tested to be free of asbestos, and contains no environmentally harmful substances such as CFCs, HFCs, HCFCs, etc. It is not corroded or prone to mold and bacterial growth. (Rock wool has been recognized by the authoritative international cancer research institution as a non-carcinogenic material.)
