Fire-resistant
Exterior rock wool board raw materials are made from natural volcanic rock, and are non-combustible building materials and fire-resistant materials.
Key Fire Retardant Features:
☉ Class A1 fire rating, effectively preventing the spread of fire.
☉ The dimensions are extremely stable, and will not expand, contract, or deform in a fire.
High-temperature resistant, melting point above 1000°C.
No smoke or burning droplets/particles produced in fire.
☉ Will not release harmful environmental substances and gases in case of fire.
Insulation and heat retention
The exterior rock wool board features fine, long, and flexible fibers with low slag content. Consequently, it has a low thermal conductivity and excellent insulation properties.
Acoustic noise reduction
Rock wool is an ideal soundproofing material; its large number of fine, elongated fibers form a porous interconnected structure, determining that Sikada rock wool is an excellent sound absorption and noise reduction material.
Hydrophobic
Water-repellent rock wool products have high water-repellency rates; low water absorption, no capillary penetration.
Moisture resistance
Rock wool has a moisture absorption rate of less than 0.2% in a high humidity environment, and its mass absorption rate is less than 0.3% according to the ASTM C1104 or ASTM 1104M testing method.
Non-corrosive
Rock wool has stable chemical properties with a pH value of 7-8, neutral to slightly alkaline, suitable for carbon steel and stainless steel,
All metals such as aluminum are free from corrosion.
Safety and Environmental Protection
Rock wool is tested to be free of asbestos, as well as harmful environmental substances like CFCs, HFCs, and HCFCs. It is not corroded or prone to mildew or bacterial growth. (Rock wool has been classified as a non-carcinogenic substance by the authoritative international cancer research institution.)
