Samarium CobaltSmCo alloys are categorized into SmCo5 and Sm2Co17, respectively representing the first and second generations of rare earth permanent magnetic materials. Due to the scarcity of their raw materials and the high cost, their development is limited. As a second-generation rare earth permanent magnet, SmCo not only boasts a high magnetic energy product (14-28 MGOe) and reliable coercivity but also exhibits excellent temperature characteristics within the rare earth permanent magnet series. Compared to neodymium-iron-boron, SmCo is more suitable for operation in high-temperature environments.
