Firstly, we should know that vacuum forming packaging is a thermal processing technique. Custom sheet materials are softened after being heated in an oven, stretched, and then adhered to the mold. After cooling, they take shape, followed by punching and quality inspection, thus forming the vacuum forming packaging boxes required by the customer. The process is simple. The only thing to note is that the material thickness and the finished product thickness are different. The higher the mold height, the thinner the stretching.

What's different about the material selection? Typically, we use PET/PVC/PS/PP as the main materials, with PET and PVC being similar (PET is an environmentally friendly material). They are mainly used for transparency, followed by black and white. Other colors are only available in sufficient quantities; otherwise, you'll have to wait for the vacuum forming packaging manufacturer to produce that color. PS is a popular material, mainly used for food and digital electronic products, with black and white being the common colors. The downside is that it's quite brittle, but there are also reinforced sheet materials available. PP is mainly used for food containers and the like, as well as for electronic protective covers, thanks to its ability to withstand high and low temperatures. Therefore, if you need materials for refrigerators or ovens, PP is a great choice.
