A conical head is a flange with a conical surface on the shell. Its features include even velocity change during medium passage, making it convenient for cleaning viscous liquids and solids, but it has poor mechanical properties. Discontinuous stresses are significant at the connection points with cylinders or tees due to the shape突变. To reduce these stresses, an arched transition with a flanged structure or a locally thickened structure can be used at either the large or small end of the conical shell. According to China's pressure vessel design specifications: when the semi-cone angle is greater than 30°, the large end of the conical shell should have a flanged structure; when the semi-cone angle is greater than 45°, the small end should have a flanged structure. Due to the larger wall thickness of the conical head, manufacturing is not convenient, and it is only used when necessary for the process.
