Why switch to a new ERP? Was there an issue with the previous one? When I asked this question to the CIO of a large concrete company, I was somewhat surprised by his answer, because I assumed he would mention the software being unsuitable or something. Instead, he said, "That company went out of business!"
The company initially chose a local small software firm for custom development, but two years later, the firm went bankrupt, and the service was consequently terminated. Although there aren't many software issues currently, due to the lack of service, the company is hesitant to continue using the software. Therefore, the chosen software vendor must have a lifespan longer than the company itself, at least equal to it! In other words, opt for a company with substantial strength or a well-known enterprise.
