A DC torque motor is a special type of brushless permanent magnet synchronous motor. As the load is directly connected to the rotor, no transmission components are needed, making the torque motor a direct-drive technology. The torque motor is also referred to as a "frameless" motor, meaning it does not have a housing, bearings, or a measuring system. These components are selected by the machine manufacturer based on required performance or purchased as a complete set.
