DC Torque Motor is a specialized type of permanent magnet brushless synchronous motor. As the load is directly connected to the rotor, no transmission components are required, making torque motors a direct drive technology. Torque motors are also known as "frameless" motors, meaning they do not have a housing, bearings, or measurement system. These components are selected by the machine manufacturer based on the required performance or purchased as a complete set.

The torque motor employs a permanent magnet brushless motor design, featuring a ring-shaped stator and a ring-shaped rotor. The stator does not use a toothed lamination design but is composed of smooth cylindrical laminations. The rotor is made up of multi-pole rare earth permanent magnet poles and a ring-shaped hollow shaft. This structure ensures a larger air gap and uniform magnetic resistance throughout the entire working air gap, thereby endowing the motor with the advantage of zero-slot torque.
